Eat|See|Hear Outdoor Movie: Singin’ in the Rain
July 8 @ 5:30 pm - 11:00 pm
“What’s the first thing an actor learns? The show must go on! Come rain, come shine, come snow, come sleet, the show MUST go on!”
A silent film production company and cast make a difficult transition to sound. Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) is a popular silent film star with humble roots as a singer, dancer, and stuntman. Don barely tolerates his vain, cunning, and shallow leading lady, Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen), though their studio, Monumental Pictures, links them romantically to increase their popularity. Lina is convinced they are in love, despite Don’s protestations otherwise. Wildely acclaimed as the greatest musical of all time.
TIME: Doors 5:30, Music 7:00, Movie 8:30
MUSICAL GUEST: Lone Kodiak
A decade ago, emberghost was Portland’s next big thing; filling 1400 person venues, but when co-vocalist/keyboardist, Sarah Jennings, was diagnosed with terminal cancer, all that changed. She passed away 3 years later, but the remaining members have been building something new with LA-based, Lone Kodiak – an indie rock outfit coined Sigur Ros meets Lady Antebellum or Smashing Pumpkins meets Celine Dion. They have always created something that is, at once, epic and intimate, having an affinity towards music with intense emotion and power.
